Kindergarten: A Visit from a Dentist!
Recently our Science curriculum moved from the study of plants to the study of health and nutrition. Luckily for our classroom, one of our parents happens to be a local dentist who was happy to come in for a visit and teach us all about healthy dental habits. The kids were excited to learn all about what they can do to keep their teeth healthy. They learned how long they should brush their teeth and were able to practice on a model of a human mouth. The children also talked about which foods were healthy for our teeth and which caused cavities. Finally, our visitor read a few amusing children’s books about teeth which the kids enjoyed. Our study of health and nutrition will continue for the remainder of our school year.
